The award-winning product is: SpaceA – the extrusion-based additive manufacturing process from Yizumi Germany GmbH, a subsidiary of the Chinese machinery manufacturer Yizumi. The process enables a combination of additive and subtractive production on an automated and scalable basis. For the first time, SpaceA stands out one of the many additive processes in the well-known field of prototype production and thus has potential for mass production.
The SpaceA product family have made live demonstration at Formnext 2019, as well as K 2019, attracting great interests from the plastics industry, especially the injection molders. "In particular, the integration of SpaceA into the production lines within the injection molding industry played a major role in the technical discussions," said Nicolai Lammert, Head of Additive manufacturing at Yizumi.

The SPE Automotive Award focuses strongly on new, innovative plastic components. Outstanding developments of plastic parts for vehicle construction are submitted into follwing categories: Interiors, Exterior, Powertrain and Structural Component, Enabler Technology etc. Jurors from all areas of plastics technology and vehicle construction judge each part according to specified criteria. The next SPE CE Automotive Award Night will take place in Neuss on Nov. 30, 2020.
