New Exploration of Integrated Solution of Polyurethane and Injection Molding

As a new type of "intelligent" material, Polyurethane (PU) has good flexibility, high wear -resistance and well self-repairing performance. Also it has the advantages of free color matching, bright colors, and friendly to "smart inserts". Therefore, it has been widely used to the injection molding products with decorative skins, high-quality paint or functional coatings.

In recent years, there is a frenzy for lightweight by using plastic in place of steel. Automobile manufacturers attempt to find new processes and technologies to improve the appearance of automotive trims. Simple molding process used in the past can no longer meet the new requirements for color, texture, intelligentization and other aspects of automotive trim products.

To better meet the new needs of customers, YIZUMI have developed in close collaboration with Dongri Company and jointly launched the ReactPro Integrated Solution of Polyurethane and Injection Molding (short for RIM). It is able to produce base material of injection parts and polyurethane skin by the same equipment set, to meet more visual, tactile, and functional requirements.




The YIZUMI UN260C-BTP ReactPro Multi-component injection molding machines equipped with PU reaction injection molding equipment, vertical rotary table mold technology can offer great precision and efficient production for all kinds of decorative products, such as trims with 3D depth surface effect or different patterns.

The machine can not only save material cost and ensure product performance but also allow PU covering on the surface of irregular-shaped plastic parts, therefore leading to more sophisticated visual and tactile effects. Through the PU filling molding process, the PU thickness of the product can reach 0.3-30 mm. PU thin-layer parts are mostly used for decorative parts such as center consoles and operation panels, which can achieve different visual effects, including gloss, matte or 3D depth, and have the characteristics of scratch resistance, aging resistance, fingerprint proofing, and self-repairing. While PU thick-layer parts can be used for car armrests and other trims, featuring strong aging resistance and weather resistance, and also impressive visual effects.

Compared with the traditional process, the solution integrates the injection molding machine and the polyurethane reaction molding equipment to achieve a one-step production, which greatly improves the production efficiency, reduces the cycle time, decreases the production cost, and avoids environmental pollution, making it more energy-saving and environmentally friendly. From the customer's perspective, UN260C-BTP ReactPro provides a cost-effective and valuable solution, which is suitable for the application of automobiles.
