Event Introduction
As one of the world's leading research and educational institutions for foundry technology, the GTK (the Department of Foundry Technology) of Kassel University has established a profound academic foundation and extensive practical experience in the global casting field through the deep integration of scientific teaching and cutting-edge research projects. At the congress, industry experts, corporate executives, supplier representatives, and technical leaders shared valuable insights and explored the limitless possibilities for the future of ultra large die casting.
At the event, Stefan Fritsche,Deputy General Manager and CSO of YIZUMI Die Casting Machine Divisionshared his insights on the application of Mg-Thixomolding for Automotive & Ultra-Large Structural, sparking extensive discussions among the attendees. With the rapid growth of new energy vehicles and the requirement for energy savings and emission reductions, magnesium alloy components, known for their lightweight and cost-effectiveness, have garnered significant attention in the casting industry. Valued for its excellent performance, safety, and environment-friendliness, the thixomolding technology becomes increasingly widespread in industry applications.

For a long time, the thixomolding process was monopolized by rather high-priced equipment, resulting in high costs for high-quality magnesium alloy components. This resulted in limited market reach. As early as 2008, YIZUMI foresaw the potential and initiated a project on thixomolding technology. Since then, YIZUMI has continuously innovated and improved its technology, earning recognition from clients in countries such as Germany and the United States. Today, YIZUMI has established a strong reputation in the field of thixomolding.
In March 2024, YIZUMI delivered its self-developed 3200T Thixomolding machine to Ningbo Sinyuan ZM Technology Co., Ltd. (Sinyuan ZM). With global leading performance in clamping force, injection capacity, and melt feeding capacity, the machine is primarily used to produce high-precision automotive parts. Meeting customer requirements for high dimensional precision, competitive production efficiency as well as high process stability is driving the large-scale application of magnesium alloy in the field of automotive lightweighting. In July of the same year, the two sides deepened their collaboration again, Sinyuan ZM ordered a 5000T Thixomolding machine. The equipment represents another breakthrough in Thixomolding technology and machine size. This further solidifies the trust and synergy between the two parties. It also marks a significant step forward in their pursuit of successfully casting ever larger Mg alloy components for the automotive industry.
Relentless pursuit of innovation has always been the foundation of our development efforts. “Customer value enhancement” is the code of our conduct. With years of experience in large thin-walled and thick-walled magnesium alloy components, YIZUMI's thixomolding machine and process technology has successfully empowered many high-end customers in international markets and established long-term cooperations. In the future, YIZUMI will continue to explore new magnesium alloy applications with global customers. Increasing investment in R&D and our commitment to high-quality developments will provide YIZUMI’s customers with better quality and more competitive solutions. We are dedicated to creating value together and driving progress for the global foundry industry.
