As a well-recognized technology expert in the industry, Wang Hongfei’s experience in the die-casting industry reflects the growth of many people in this industry in China. In 1980, he was engaged in the industry at the age of 16 as an apprentice. Learning by doing, he later became one of the factory’s lead worker in die-casting process. In 2001, with nearly 20 years of accumulated knowledge and experience, he founded the Xiongxin Die-Casting Co., Ltd. in Foshan (“Xiongxin Die-Casting”). Today, while serving as the general manager of Xiongxin Die-Casting, Hongfei Wang is also a member of National Metal Thermoforming Technology Sub-committee (TC186/SC2), ans has participated in the formulation of relevant technical standards in the die casting industry many times.

Following his passion for technologies, Hongfei Wang always adheres to the business philosophy of “To be the best rather than the largest” and requires the Xiongxin Die-cast to focus on sophisticated die casting and pursue for excellence. Through a decade of efforts, Xiongxin Die-casting has become a “casting and moulding integrated manufacturer” that meets the international standard. End users include Tesla, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, BAIC, TOTO, Rubbermaid, Vatti, and other enterprises.



“Make difficult products”


How to define difficult products?” In the context of our company’s size, we will take some challenges in the field where others are reluctant to touch. Some orders make large factories feel somewhat difficult but the quantities are too small for them to take. Meanwhile, their technical requirements are too high for small factories to handle. That is the room to bring our abilities into full play.” said Wang.

With a clear positioning, Xiongxin Die-casting places its focus on high air tightness and high strength products where laminar flow and mold filling die-casting technologies are employed to meet the requirements of high-strength thick-walled parts and T6 heat treatment.

The quality product positioning has allowed Xiongxin Die-casting to maintain a stable business with products covering multiple industries including automotive, home appliances, industrial and medical applications. The die-casting production capacity has reached 3500 tons.



A product yield over 99% for high airtight compressor


With in-depth knowledge of die-casting process, Hongfei Wang is also very familiar with the design of die-casting machines. That is where his cooperation with Yizumi started. “When we purchased the first Yizumi 500-ton die-casting machine in 2009, we put forward a lot of special performance requirements, including real-time feedback and electric valves. Yizumi fulfilled them all. The machine works very well. It has now been almost 10 years and is still running.”

The collaboration between the two has continued since then. While Wang constantly brings up innovative functional requirements for the machines, he has purchased from Yizumi the 500T, 650T, 800T die-casting machines and the automation systems for the production of transmission stator, diaphragm pump components, super-low-speed die-casting products, combustion chamber parts for Olympic torch, etc. Among them, the EV A/C compressor housing made by Yizumi’s 650T die-casting machine has achieved a production yield over 99%.

The production strategy of making technically challenging products allows Xiongxin Die-casting to maintain a steady growth even in the economic downturn this year. However, with the transformation of the automotive industry, the competition for small and medium-sized die casting components has been increasing. Products that are suitable for small and medium-sized machines to make are decreasing. The industry is in favor of larger die casting parts. In the meantime, the requirements for automotive die castings are constantly rising. Wang admitted that “the quotes received and projects landed in the recent two year reveal that the conventional parts originally made by gravity casting and low-pressure casting are turning to die casting industry. In addition, automakers update very fast every year, requiring manufacturers to further reduce costs.”

Geared towards the future development trend of the automotive industry, Wang said that Xiongxin Die-casting will continue to work with Yizumi and plan on deployment of large die-casting equipment for the production of EV components with larger projection area.





“The relationship between Xiongxin and Yizumi is not a simple supply and demand relationship. The technical teams of both sides are very familiar with each other and often have in-depth communications. If there is a problem in the communication process, we will work it out together. After nearly 10 years of cooperation, there is no communication barriers between the two of us in terms of technology and after-sales service. Especially in services, Yizumi is very timely and supportive. In the future, Xiongxin Die-casting will continue working with Yizumi closely.”
