Online Open Week｜FoamPro：Physical Foaming and Chemical Foaming Come on Stage

Committed to achieving lightweight, YIZUMI FoamPro foaming molding solution welcomes a new number——Chemical Foaming technology, which will further help plastic product reduce weight.

On the upcoming open week in Wujing factory, YIZUMI UN1700DP two-platen injection molding machine will use special chemical foaming plasticizing components as well as special Chemical Foaming Agent(CFA) which is environment-friendly and high performance to display automotive door panel application on site.

The product’s weight can be reduced by 10-25% through chemical foaming process compared with the traditional injection molding process. Meanwhile, the decrease of product internal stress can eliminate surface sink marks or reduce deformation to a certain extent.

The Microcellular Foam Injection Molding Solution (physical foaming) deeply based on Mucell technology will also be showcased in Wujiang Open Week in the same period. The UN1500DP two-platen injection molding machine which is equipped with the aircraft aluminum mold technology, Ceramic Coating technology and FLEXflow servo-driven hot runner system is able to reduce weight, improve raw material fluidity, promote product precision, avoid warpage, and reduce cycle time, etc. Taking the briefcase as an example, it weights 1000g under traditional process, while weights 880g under Microcellular Foam Process, weight reduction by over 12%.

YIZUMI FoamPro technical solution (chemical foaming, physical foaming) could be applied to automotive, 3C, home appliance, packaging and other industries, such as the trim panel of automobile tail door, dashboard, center console, automobile air conditioning casing, fan casing, etc. It is able to realize light weighting and achieve better precision and surface quality, therefore, customers could obtain higher return of investment.

Chemical Foaming

By adding a certain percentage of chemical foaming agent into the plastic raw material and injecting the mixture into the mold cavity after plasticizing in the injection molding machine barrel, the foaming agent will grow bubbles in the plastic under the constraint of mold to create a plastic product with a uniform internal foaming structure and a solid skin layer.

MuCell® Microcellular Foaming

Precise amounts of supercritical fluid N2 or CO2 are injected into the plastic melt to be mixed/diffused and form homogeneous mixture. It is then injected into the mold cavity. Because of the pressure change during the injection, a large number of nucleated bubbles are formed. During filling and cooling process, the bubbles will grow and solidify to complete the microcellular foaming. So far, YIZUMI has set up strategic cooperation with Trexel based on deep Mucell development, jointly developing new-type Mucell Screw and providing CAE simulation and analysis services.
